But how can you easily care for your sink and/or faucet in copper, gold, or gunmetal? A sink or faucet in these colors will only remain beautiful if properly maintained. In this care guide, we explain how to ensure that the copper, gold, or gunmetal accessories in your kitchen stay radiant.

Sinks and/or faucets in copper, gold, and gunmetal have a PVD coating – but what does that mean?

A PVD coating (Physical Vapor Deposition) is a coating where a thin, strong top layer is created on a surface (in this case, stainless steel) by evaporating metal. Thanks to the PVD coating, you enjoy the look of real copper, gold, or gunmetal and the durable properties of stainless steel.

Care for your sink and/or faucet in copper, gold, or gunmetal:

Tip 1: Clean regularly.
Regular cleaning prevents limescale and dirt from accumulating on and around the sink and/or faucet. Wipe the surfaces at least once a week and also thoroughly clean the faucet when cleaning the kitchen. Proper care prevents permanent stains and makes cleaning easier.

Tip 2: Use the right cleaning products.
No special cleaning agents are needed to clean your copper, gold, or gunmetal sink and/or faucet. A warm soapy solution with mild detergent will keep your sink and/or faucet clean. For descaling, use a mixture of 50% white vinegar and 50% water. Test this on a small area first.

Tip 3: Use a soft cloth.
To avoid scratches or other damage, wipe the sink and/or faucet with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use microfiber cloths and always dry the surface with a soft, dry cloth.

Tip 4: Avoid these cleaning agents.
Although the PVD coating is strong, you should not use cleaning agents such as bleach, chlorine, ethylene oxides, or other aggressive or highly acidic cleaning agents. Use pH-neutral cleaning agents.

Tip 5: Avoid rough sponges and cloths.
To avoid scratches and other permanent damage, do not use rough sponges, steel wool, microfiber cloths, or hard cloths. Use a soft cloth to keep the surface shiny.

Tip 6: Use a Caressi bottom grid for your sink.
A Caressi bottom grid is a stainless steel grid that you can place at the bottom of the sink. It protects the sink base and helps keep your sink looking new for longer. The grid is available in all PVD colors and fits (almost) all Caressi sinks.

Finally:
A sink and/or faucet with a PVD color finish is beautiful but more susceptible to scratches or damage than a normal stainless steel sink or faucet. Treat your product carefully and use proper care to enjoy your Caressi product for a long time.
